The only problem is that for some reason whenever I download torrents, once the torrent is done downloading it won't seed. It says seeding but it says 0 B uploaded, 0.0 kB/s uploading, and a 0.000 share ratio. I'm using utorrent 3.5 (build 43916). Downloading from uTorrent is not the same as downloading files in your browser. There is a completely different process and there are many factors involved that may increase or decrease the speed of the download. For example, at what priority the torrent file is set? How many seeders (people who are uploading the file) are seeding? Well, I have 1000s of torrents so I can't seed everything for ever. I fear that from self-interest most of what I seed for ever is for bonus points or for ratio on 'harder' trackers. But yeah, I've seeded many things, at least 2k I'd say, for over a year 24/7 and some for up to 6 years. How to stop seeding? uTorrent Portable is incredibly helpful and user-friendly in this regard. As mentioned above, once the timer on a file has completed it will be fully downloaded. uTorrent will ping loudly to inform the user the file is downloaded. It will also create a pop-up in the right-hand corner of the screen to confirm this.

A peer or downloader becomes a seed when it completely downloads all the data and continues/starts uploading data for other peers to download from.
